APPENDICES
4.10 The old EVMC has two RS232 serial ports, however, only the first RS232 port is opera-
tional at this time. The RS232 interface consists of a standard, two-pair, reversing, mod-to-mod
line cord. A reversing line cord can be identified by examining the modular plug connectors
side-by-side as shown below.
4.11 The newer EVMC has one RS232 serial port and one DB9 serial port. The RS232 inter-
face functions the same as it does on the old EVMC. The DB9 serial port provides a connec-
tion for Inside Track.
NOTE: If using the DB9 port, an SMDR buffer box is not required.
4.12 In addition, the newer EVMC no longer has the Reset button, which was for develop-
ment purposes only and should not be used.
4.13 The EVMC can be used only with the new 4-amp or the standard 9-amp power supply.
4.14 The following table describes the he environmental requirements of the EVMC.
B. DIAGNOSTICS
4.15 For advanced troubleshooting purposes, the Voice Processing Unit includes special
diagnostics software. If an application problem cannot be resolved, Customer Support may
instruct the technician to connect the monitor and keyboard and perform certain diagnostic pro-
cedures.
