K. SMDR RETRIEVAL CONNECTION REQUIREMENTS
NOTE: The SMDR Retrieval cable kit is not supported in Europe.
6.18 If necessary, the DB25 (COM2) serial port on the back of the Voice Processing PC can
be used to connect another PC for SMDR data retrieval using Inter-Tel’s Inside Track call
accounting software (not applicable to European systems).
6.19 To do this, use the modular adapters and line cord included in the optional SMDR
retrieval cable kit (part no. 828.1282), as listed below and described in the Inside Track User
Guide.
• DB25 Modular Adapter (female, reversing, four-wire) – part number 804.2425 (MOD-
TAP part number 06-986-G99-33)
• DB9 Modular Adapter (female, non-reversing, four-wire) – part number 804.2420
(MOD-TAP part number 08-988-610-00)
• Line Cord (two-pair, reversing) – part number 813.1592
6.20 If the SMDR retrieval cable kit is not available, it is possible to use a standard straight-
through cable along with a null-modem adapter and, if necessary, a gender changer. These
items are readily available at most electronic/computer equipment stores.
6.21 Another option is to use the following wiring diagram to build the necessary cable/con-
nectors.
NOTE: When building cable/connectors from this diagram, note that the connections between
the Voice Processing Unit DB25 port and the other device include the modular adapters and a
line cord.
The connection must be made as indicated in the diagram (correct pins connected)
regardless of whether a reversing or non-reversing line cord is used.
