Analog Fallback System (Europe Only)
H. ANALOG FALLBACK SYSTEM (EUROPE ONLY)
7.57 The fallback kit (part no. PS2728-A) contains the following items:
12 volt DC power supply (PS2736)
Fallback Control Module and Control Lead (J36)
Fallback Module 3-Circuit (J20)
Charcoal Line Cord (Standard) (C27)
7.58 An additional five fallback modules may also be connected if required.
7.59 The PSU is fitted with a 5-pin din plug which is then attached to CH4 of the control
module. The control module is supplied with a standard line cord that connects it to the CPU
relay socket.
7.60 The power to each fallback module is jumpered, as shown in Figure 3-36 on page 3-74.
7.61 To use dedicated fallback telephones, the lines to the fallback unit should not be con-
nected to the LSC but to the PSTN connections of the module. The LSC should be jumpered to
the COU connections of the module and the dedicated fallback telephone connected to the F/B
connections. See Figure 3-37 on page 3-74.
NOTE: The dedicated fallback telephones must be signaling compatible with the lines supplied.
7.62 To use system telephones as fallback telephones, two fallback circuits are required per
line. The lines and telephones are not directly connected to the LSC or SLC but as shown in
Figure 3-37 on page 3-74.
NOTE: The fallback telephone must be totally compatible with the system and the lines. The
user should be made aware of any adjustments and procedures necessary to place calls.
7.63 Fallback operation can be tested by removing the line cord from the CPU. This forces
all fallback circuits to operate and may disconnect any calls on these circuits.
