Voice Processing (Avdap) Service
INSTALLATION

14.19 To log on to the domain server, the service requires a valid user ID and password on the
domain server. They are programmed through Voice Processing DB Programming (see page 6-
351). The user ID and password can be obtained from the Windows system administrator. It is
important that the system administrator set up the password so that it does not expire. If the
password expires, the log on fails.
14.20 If Voice Processing is unable to log on to the network, a message is automatically
entered into the Windows System Event Log. Because Voice Processing tries repeatedly to log
in to restore a network connection, if the network is down for a long time (or Voice Processing
is running in an environment without a network), many entries are entered into the Event Log.
Eventually, the log fills up, and warning messages start appearing on the PC screen. The
instructions below tell how to change the setting of the Event Log to handle this situation.
1. Select Start - Programs - Administrative Tools (Common) - Event Viewer.
2. Right-click System Log and select Properties.
3. In the General tab, under the “When maximum log size is reached” section, select
Overwrite events as needed.
4. Select OK to save your change and exit.
14.21 The account that the Avdap service uses must be part of the local “Administrator” group
on the Voice Processing PC and it must have an Advanced User Right set to
Log on as a
batch job
. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Select Start - Programs - Administrative Tools (Common) - User Manager.
2. Select the Administrators group from the list in User Manager.
3. Select Groups.
4. Choose the Avdap service account from the Names list. Select Add to add this name.
5. Select OK to exit to the Local Group Properties window.
6. Select User Rights from the Policies drop-down menu.
7. Check the box in the lower left corner to Show Advanced User Rights.
