12.29 Analog phones, some Executone IDS and Wave Phones, and Standard Display, Associ-
ate Display, and Model 8520 Phones have two-line displays with 16-characters per line.
12.30 Older phone types are available in standard or display model. The non-display phones
can be converted to display phones by installing LCD Units. Installation instructions are in the
INSTALLATION section of the manual. (Model 8520 Phones are not available in a standard
model.)
12.31 When the phone is not in use, the LCD shows the station extension number, user name,
time of day, and date. Other displays include reminder messages, do-not-disturb messages,
numbers dialed, call sources, elapsed time of calls, current call costs, error messages, station
status, programming messages, etc. The displayed information is described throughout the
instructions in this section of the manual.
LCD Contrast Feature
12.32 The LCD contrast is adjustable to eight different settings for the following endpoints:
• Model 8662
• Model 8622
• Model 8620
• Model 8660
• Model 8560
• Model 8520 (adjusted with a contrast control wheel)
NOTE: The LCD Contrast feature is supported on version 7.0 or later systems only.
12.33 To adjust the LCD contrast on a Model 8662, 8622, 8620, 8660, and 8560 phone:
1. While the phone is idle, press the Special button ( ) and enter the LCD Contrast
feature code (303).
2. EITHER, Select LIGHTER or DARKER on the menu buttons.
OR, Use the Volume button to make your selection.
OR, Press the desired level (1-8).
3. Press the Speaker button or ACCEPT to save your change.
12.34 The Model 8520 Phone has a contrast control wheel that adjusts the contrast level. This
wheel is located on the back of the phone and can be adjusted while viewing the display.
12.35 To adjust the LCD contrast on a Model 8520 phone:
1. While the phone is idle, locate the contrast control wheel on the upper-right section of
the phone.
2. Adjust the contrast of the LCD screen by turning the wheel clockwise (lighter) or coun-
terclockwise (darker).
