15 TAILSTOCK
CONTRAPUNTO
The following two types of tailstock are provided for
the NL series:
• Digital tailstock (NL1500 series, NL2000 series,
NL2500 series, NL3000 series/700, NL3000
series/1250)
This tailstock can be moved by a servomotor.
• Programmable tailstock (NL3000 series/2000,
NL3000 series/3000)
This tailstock is connected to the turret to be
moved by operating the turret.
This section describes how to use each type of the
tailstock.

ATENCION
1. Set the door interlock key-switch to the
[NORMAL] position before fitting or remov-
ing the center.

2. An extraction bar used when removing the
center from the tailstock body is fitted inside
the tailstock on some models. Do not oper-
ate the machine without the bar attached as it
performs a shockproofing function during
removal of the center. This bar also serves
to prevent chips and coolant from entering
the tailstock body during machining.

3. In the case of machines with the live center
specification, the live center must be
mounted at all times.

4. In the door open or emergency stop state,
the tailstock thrust force becomes tempo-
rarily insufficient. In a center-work opera-
tion, the workpiece may get out of phase in
the direction of rotation. Therefore careful
attention is required when restarting opera-

2. En algunos modelos, se ha colocado dentro del
contrapunto una barra de extracción empleada para
retirar la punta giratoria del armazón del
contrapunto. No utilice la máquina sin la barra
instalada, ya que ésta realiza una función antigolpes
durante la extracción de la punta. Esta barra
también sirve para evitar que las virutas y el
refrigerante entren en el armazón del contrapunto
durante el mecanizado.

3. Si la máquina está especificada para utilizar un
contrapunto con punta giratoria móvil, ésta deberá
estar siempre instalada.

4. Si la máquina se encuentra en estado de puerta
abierta o de parada de emergencia, la fuerza de
empuje del contrapunto será insuficiente
temporalmente. Durante una operación de
centrado, la pieza podrá desfasarse en la dirección
de la rotación. Por consiguiente, deberá prestar
especial atención cuando reinicie el
