4.100 Address: (This field is not programmable.) Indicates the circuit address assigned to the
modem. All modems are assigned the fifth port. For example, a modem on a CPC located in
slot 8 of Node 1 would be assigned address 1:08.05.
4.101 When you expand or double-click a modem extension, you can program the following
fields:
• Modem Enabled: Allows the modem to accept incoming calls, if enabled. If disabled,
the modem does not accept incoming calls, and INVALID EXTENSION appears on
display phones. By default, this is enabled.
NOTE: System Administrators can also enable/disable and reset the modem using the
Administrator phone. See page 5-299 for details.
• Minimum Bit Rate: Select the minimum bit rate the modem will use for its connection.
The range is 9600-33600, and the default is 9600.
• Force Minimum Bit Rate: Forces the modem to connect at the Minimum Bit Rate
only, if enabled. If disabled, the modem can connect at bit rates higher than the pro-
grammed minimum. By default, this is disabled.
4.102 After you have programmed the modem information, you can assign the modem exten-
sion as the following:
• Trunk Group Ring-In Destinations: (System\Devices and Feature Codes\CO Trunk
Groups) Allows remote access of the modem using a trunk call.
• Call Routing Table Ring-In Destinations: (System\Trunk-Related Information\Call
Routing Tables) Allows modem access using one or more specific phone numbers.
• Voice Mail Extension ID for Auto Attendant and Digit Translation: (Voice Proces-
sor\Devices\Extension ID) Allows modem access through the Auto Attendant or Voice
Mail extension.
