MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Trunks
PROGRAMMING
6
NOTE: If using B-channel trunks, the central office will send fewer than 10 digits for the DNIS
number on some ISDN calls. When this happens, the System needs to be able to construct a
10-digit number for the System OAI and Desktop Interface features. To do this it requires a base
number for the trunk. for the DNIS number. When this happens, the System needs to be able to
construct a 10-digit number for the System OAI and Desktop Interface features. To do this it
requires a base number for the trunk. Enter the base number digits in the text box (up to 32 dig-
its).
Number Of Digits To Receive
4.379 (Used for DID, ANI, and DNIS) This is the number of digits the System will use for
directing the call. Select the current Value and enter or scroll to the correct amount (1-32) in
the text box. Then press
ENTER or select another field to save the change.
Service Base Number
4.380 (Used for B-Channel trunks.) This is the base number for the trunk. Select the current
Value, and enter the digits in the text box (up to 48 digits). Then press
ENTER or select another
field to save the change.
4.381 Language: This field determines which language will be used for the voice prompts
and displays when this trunk is used. This field can be set to any specific language so that the
system can support more than two languages. The language choices are Use Primary Lan-
guage, Use Secondary Language, American English, British English, Japanese, or Spanish.
Note that Spanish voice prompts use Mexico City Spanish Dialect for VPU and EVMC, and
American Spanish Dialect for EM. Select the current Value and use the drop-down list box to
scroll to the appropriate choice). Then press
ENTER or select another field to save the change.
NOTE: Setting a trunk Language field to a specific language will not work across nodes unless
all the nodes in the system are at least 5.2F6 or newer since the older systems do not under-
stand specific languages and expect to receive only Primary Language or Secondary Language
values.
4.382 Loop Current Dial Tone Detection: (Used on LGC ground-start trunks only.) If this
flag is enabled, the system processes an outgoing call as soon as dial tone is detected. If the
flag is disabled, the system processes the call when the GS Dialing Wait After Connect timer
expires. To enable this flag, select the current Value and then select the check box to place a
check in it. Then press
ENTER or select another field to save the change. (To remove the check
and disable the flag, select the check box again.)
4.383 Transmit and Receive Gain: These fields allow gain control programming for trunks
on a T1/E1/PRI or on a T1, E1/PRI, or T1/PRI Card that has been modified using the T1 or E1
Gain Control Kit. All trunks, regardless of the board they are on, will have default transmit and
receive gains of 0 dB. If the trunk resides on a board that does not support the gain control, the
values are ignored. The range for the Transmit or Receive gain is -16 to +12dB. To select the
gain setting, select its current Value and scroll to the desired setting. Then press
ENTER or
select another field to save the change. If gain has been adjusted using the hardware settings,
be sure to check that the database settings match when upgrading to system version 5.1 or later
software.
4.384 Send Digits En Bloc: (Used for loop start and MGCP trunks only) This field deter-
mines how the system sends digits to the trunk. If enabled (set to Ye s), the system sends all of
the available digits when the system seizes the trunk (e.g., when the user accesses ARS). If dis-
abled (set to No), the system sends the digits to the trunk one at a time. By default, this is dis-
abled, which is recommended for loop start trunks and MGCP gateways/endpoints.
