Programming VM Applications
Attendant
4.28 A station, hunt group, or other application can serve as the attendant station for an
application. This attendant will receive recalls when the Transfer Recall Destination does not
answer or is unavailable. To program the attendant for the application, use one of the following
methods:
Method A
1. Select the current Value and enter the new value in the text box.
2. Press ENTER. A screen appears showing you what is associated with the number you
entered.
3. Select OK. The new number appears in the field.
Method B
1. Right-click on Attendant. An options box appears. Select Change Attendant. A win-
dow appears that asks you to select the type to include.
2. Use the drop-down list box to scroll to Keyset and select Next. A list of phones appears.
(You can view them in a list by selecting the List button or view details by selecting the
Details button.)
3. Select the desired phone and then select Finish. The new attendant appears in the
Attendant field.
NOTE: If you would like to view the programming for the selected attendant station,
double-click on Attendant to jump to the keyset programming area.
Automatic Fax Detection
4.29 With Automatic Fax Detection, Call Routing Announcement applications can be pro-
grammed to automatically route incoming fax calls to a specified extension or to an e-mail
address. Call Routing Applications will be able to detect fax tones during the greeting and up
to timeout. However, the fax tone detection will be disabled if the caller performs an action
that removes them from the Call Routing Announcement (transferring to an extension, trans-
ferring to a mailbox, etc.). The two fields that control the Automatic Fax Detection feature are:
Fax Delivery Destination: This field, if programmed, specifies the extension of the fax
machine that will receive incoming faxes.
Fax Delivery E-Mail Address: This field, if programmed, specifies the e-mail address
of the account that will receive incoming faxes. The fax is converted to a TIFF file and
sent to the e-mail address as an attached file. The address can be up to 127 characters. If
you enter an invalid character (: ; " \ | ( ) , < > ‘), an error tone occurs. To view a mes-
sage, use any TIFF file viewer (such as Imaging for Windows).
Default Applications
4.30 (For STAR Only) This field determines where calls will go that do not match any of the
time-based criteria in tables 1-20. To assign the application, use one of the following methods:
Method A
1. Select the current Value and enter the new value in the text box.
2. Press ENTER. A screen appears showing you what is associated with the number you
entered.
3. Select OK. The new number appears in the field.
