MANUAL VERSION 11.0 May 2008
System Issues
The 5 Volts LED on the ASX-
200BX ATM switch is lit red
for one of the power supplies
The power supply is not
plugged in, not turned on, or
defective
Make sure the power supply is plugged into a prop-
erly grounded socket. If it is, make sure the power
switch is turned on. If the LED is still red, see the
Ericsson
®
(Marconi) documentation for information
on replacing the power supply.
When the system is routing a
normal amount of traffic
through the switch, the Slave
LED on slave PCMA cards is
blinking. This LED does not
blink if the system is idle
The slave PCMA cards are
having difficulty synchroniz-
ing their local clocks to the
master clock source
Configure the interfaces on the switch so that the
constant bit rate (CBR) uses roundrobin instead of
guaranteed bits. See page 7-69 for details.
DB Programming is not recog-
nizing a PCMA card (displays
“Unknown”) after upgrading
the system to include a new
PCMA group. The Master and
Slave LEDs on the new
PCMA card are also blinking.
The backup CP Server does
not have an updated static
memory file that reflects the
new card. This backup
server is then trying to take
over Call Processing.
Stop the Watchdog Service on the backup CP
Server. Then start DB Programming. After the card
is recognized, you can restart the Watchdog Ser-
vice.
A delayed major reset was
scheduled after programming
changes were made.
The delayed major reset
may have been scheduled
for reasons other than
changes to the database
(e.g., minor reset, a heap
corruption message or heap
nearing full message).
Contact Tech Support for instructions on how to
dump the delayed major reset information.
Programming changes may
have caused an exception
(minor reset) or a heap cor-
ruption, which caused the
system to schedule a
delayed major reset.
A CPS site has just upgraded
to 9.0 or later. Upon the first
system freeze, the system
has a problem compressing
the freeze directory.
The “Freeze” directory may
have over 2 GB of data in it.
The compression utility on
the CPS cannot zip more
than 2 GB of data.
Remove/backup the old “Freeze” directory before
installing 9.0 or later software.
The new dump options in
Diagnostics Monitor do not
exist.
The user is using an older
version of Diagnostics Moni-
tor.
Use Diagnostics Monitor version 3.2.1 or later.
Executing the diagnostics
dump resource command
returns “The server did not
recognize the last command.”
The user has connected to a
system running pre-v9.0 Call
Processing software and
does not support the new
diagnostics feature.
Make sure the system is running v9.0 Call Process-
ing software or greater.
The traceroute command
always displays “no reply.”
The routers or destination
host on the network are pro-
grammed to ignore ICMP
Echo requests or to not send
ICMP Time Exceeded mes-
sages.
Contact the network administrator to enable these
ICMP messages.
