Using Existing System Hardware
APPENDICES
A. USING EXISTING SYSTEM HARDWARE
1.3 If you need more than eight Voice Processing Unit ports, you can use the standard Voice
Processing Unit in place of the EVMC. Likewise, if you need more than 4 amps of power, you
can use the standard Inter-Tel power supplies. (However, you cannot use the U.S. 6-amp power
supply with the EVMC.)
B. SYSTEM DB PROGRAMMING
1.4 The system version 5.2 (and later) Database (DB) Programming software has been
changed in the following ways to accommodate the CPU64 and EVMC:
• CPC64 is included in the Cabinets folder as a CPU card type (it is programmed like a
CPU128).
• A slot can be programmed for the EVMC (no additional card programming is required).
• In Cabinets, only eight slots are displayed (one chassis). Slot 8 is used by the CPC64.
• Fax-On-Demand programming does not apply when the EVMC is installed.
1.5 There are five pre-programmed databases available on the CPU64 software CD. They
are:
• Call Buttons with Voice Mail
• Individual Line Buttons with Voice Mail
• Call Buttons without Voice Mail
• Individual Line Buttons without Voice Mail
• Node on a Network
1.6 To use one of these databases, perform a Database Restore using the desired database.
The pre-programmed databases have the following configurations.
