MANUAL VERSION 11.0 May 2008
Digital Keyset Card (DKSC)
INSTALLATION
3
NOTE: If the CP Server uses the UTP5 Adapter, the CP Server must be placed within 100 m of
the ATM Switch. It is also recommended that the CP Server not be off-site because the UTP5
cable is unshielded.
F. DIGITAL KEYSET CARD (DKSC)
10.21 Install the Digital Keyset Cards (DKSC) and/or 16-port Digital Keyset Card (DKSC-16
or DKSC-16+) as described below. See Figure 3-55 on page 3-114 for an illustration.
10.22 See page 6-121 for instructions about how to convert a DKSC-16 to a v8.2 or later firm-
ware IPRC.
NOTE: When inserting or removing the CPU card, CPC, or Network Clock Card, the system
power must be turned off to prevent damage to the card. All other cards can be inserted or
removed with power on.
1.
Make sure that all components on the cards are seated securely in their sockets and that
no pins are bent.
NOTE: If installing any single-line devices or off-premises extensions, see page 3-70
before installing the DKSCs or DKSC-16s.
2.
Install the DKSCs and/or DKSC-16s one at a time in the slots to be used for station
connections. The component sides of the cards must face right. Any type of card may
be installed in any of the first seven slots (in any chassis), and slots may be skipped, if
desired.
NOTE: If, when first powered up, the actual cards installed do not exactly match the
default configuration, adjustments must be made in DB Programming. Circuit 1.1.1 (a
DKSC circuit) is preset as an administrator and as the primary attendant. If changing
card types (e.g., changing from a DKSC to an LSC), see the programming procedures
on page 6-114 and to the information on pages 3-16 and 3-17.
CAUTION
Do not install an analog phone on a Digital Keyset Card, or vice versa. Installing a phone on
the wrong type of station card can damage both the phone and the card.
