Voice Processing Uninstall Program
14.14 The Voice Processing Windows software comes with an uninstall program. To access
the uninstall program:
1. Select Start - Programs - Voice Processing - Uninstall Voice Processing.
2. A screen appears that says, “The uninstall program will restart the PC.” Select Yes to
continue, or select
No to cancel the uninstallation.
3. If you select Yes, the uninstall program modifies the settings of several Voice Process-
ing related programs and displays a screen that says, “Please run Uninstall again after
the PC restart to complete the uninstallation.” Select
OK to continue.
4. The uninstall program terminates the AVDAP service and restarts the PC in a few sec-
onds.
5. After the PC restarts, select Start - Programs - Voice Processing - Uninstall Voice Pro-
cessing
again.
6. The Select Uninstall Method screen appears. Choose Automatic and then select Next.
7. The uninstall program deletes all the Voice Processing files, services, and registry
entries. The only exception is the avdap_root\avdap\db and avdap_root\avdap\drivers
(“avdap_root” is the directory where you install the AVDAP files and the default is
c:\avdap). Uninstall does not delete those files to prevent unwanted loss of system data.
However, you can manually delete those if you do not need the Voice Processing data
(such as custom recordings).
8. You can now reinstall Voice Processing software. If you did not delete the \avdap\db
directory, the system retains the previous Voice Processing data.
NOTE: When downgrading Voice Processing software to an earlier version, you must first unin-
stall the newer version. If you do not uninstall the newer version before loading the older ver-
sion, the Voice Processing audio may not operate properly.
