MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
ASX-200BX
B. ASX-200BX
3.6 The ASX-200BX switch provides a 2.5 Gbps non-blocking switching fabric that sup-
ports up to three “modules” that are installed into available expansion slots. Because each
module provides a different connection type, there are several possible ATM configurations.
These are as follows:
• 8-port UTP5 (Copper); part no. 550.5296
• 8-port Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF); part no. 550.5297
• 4-port MMF/4-port UTP5; part no. 550.5298
• 4-port MMF/4-port UTP5/4-port Single-Mode Fiber (SMF); part no. 550.5299
3.7 Each module, or interface, supports up to four ports, for a total of up to 12 ports on one
switch. The required modules depend on the type of PCMA cards in the system chassis and the
ATM Adapter card in the Call Processing Server (CPS).
3.8 In addition, the ASX-200BX includes a Switch Control Processor (SCP), which contin-
uously monitors the switch. The status is then displayed in the light-emitting diode (LED) Sta-
tus Display on the front of the switch.
3.9 The following is an illustration of an ASX-200BX with 8 UTP5 connectors.
3.10 Each switch has the following features:
• DB9 Connector: Provides a serial interface for connecting to a programming PC. The
default settings for the serial port are:
— Baud Rate: 9600
— Data Bits: 8 bits
— Parity: none
— Stop Bit: 1 bit
• Ethernet Connector: Provides an IP port for connecting to a programming PC. You
must program the IP address for this connector before you can use it (see page 3-166).
• Redundant Power Supply: Contains two power supplies, providing backup power
capabilities.
