MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Stations on the Local Node
PROGRAMMING

NOTE: IP endpoints retain the NAT Address Type settings after an upgrade.
4.242 Automatic Detection for NAT Traversal: The Automatic NAT Detection feature takes
near-end NAT traversal one step further. An IP endpoint designated with the
Auto NAT Type
in DB Programming automatically selects the appropriate NAT or Native IP address. This fea-
ture allows the IP endpoint to be moved from inside a NAT to outside and back again without
programming intervention.
4.243 If the default
Auto NAT Type is designated for an IP endpoint in DB Programming, the
Auto NAT Detection feature determines the correct IP address to use when the endpoint comes
online. After the NAT type is determined, the IP endpoint uses the setting for all calls. How-
ever, the NAT IP address associated with the system must be programmed manually in order
for the NAT detection test to run.
4.244 With applicable licensing, Auto NAT Detection supports multi-protocol endpoint Mod-
els 8600, 8620, 8622, 8662, and 8690; hard IP endpoints, including Model 8660, Axxess/
Eclipse IP PhonePlus, and IP Single-Line Adapter (IP SLA); and, IP softphones, including the
Model 8602 IP softphone.
4.245 Auto NAT Detection does not support the following endpoints. The NAT setting must
be set manually for:
Inter-Tel IP endpoints in SIP mode
Inter-Tel wireless IP endpoint Models 8664, 8665, and 8668
IP gateway trunks (SIP and MGCP)
Model 8601 SoftPhone for Pocket PC
Non-Inter-Tel SIP phones
4.246 See “Configuring Near-End NAT Traversal for IP Endpoints” on page A-14 for more
information about NAT traversal for IP endpoints and Automatic NAT Detection. For program-
ming information, see page A-15.
House Phone
4.247 The station can be designated as a house phone that automatically dials a predetermined
number when the handset is lifted. To enable this flag and assign the station as a house phone,
select the current Value and then select the check box to place a check in it. Then press
ENTER
or select another field to save the change. (To remove the check and disable the flag, select the
check box again.)
House Phone Day/Night Numbers
4.248 The assigned day number is dialed when the system is in day mode and the assigned
night number is dialed when the system is in night mode. The day/night house phone numbers
can also be programmed using the house phone station speed-dial locations. Select
Day and/or
Night and enter the extension or outside number (up to 16 digits, including pauses and hook-
flashes/recalls) that will be dialed when the house phone is used during the day and/or night
mode. Then press
ENTER or select another field to save the change. You can use the extension
number of an off-node device, if desired. These numbers are also station speed-dial locations
codes 0 (day) and 1 (night).
