MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Stations on the Local Node
Keymaps
4.249 The database contains maps of default values for button layouts. (These maps are pro-
grammed in Station-Related Information, as described on page 6-306.) Keyset and DSS key-
maps are user-equippable and may be equipped as needed through DB Programming.
NOTE: The user cannot change the number of keymaps or remove keymap # 1 in the Keyset
keymaps and DSS keymaps. This ensures that the system always has at least one usable key-
map.
4.250 The default database contains only the non-removable keymaps (keymap #1) as men-
tioned above. Keymaps can be batch created as needed through DB Programming. Unneces-
sary keymaps may be removed by right-clicking and choosing
Delete.
4.251 Determine the preferred keymap for each phone (maps 01-250) and each DSS/BLF-
equipped station (maps 01-20). To determine the Standard, Alternate, and DSS keymaps that
will be used by this station, double-click on
Keymaps. Then do the following:
• Right-click on the Keymap value for the map you want to change. An option box
appears.
• Select
Change Map Group. A window appears that asks you to select the type of
device to include.
• Select the appropriate map and then select
Next. The list of maps appears. (You can
view them in a list by selecting the List button or view details by selecting the Details
button.)
• Highlight the map you want to use and then select
Finish. Your selection appears in the
Keymap field.
NOTE: If using the new Model 8500, 8520, or 8560 Phones on a system running 3.0-6.x soft-
ware, you must use a Standard or Executive keymap. Because the newer phones have more
buttons than the keymap, some button functionality will be lost. See page 5-135 for details.
4.252 To see the programming for a specific keymap, double-click on it to jump to the Sta-
tion-Related Information\Key Assignment programming area.
Language
4.253 Determine which language will be used for the voice prompts and displays at this sta-
tion. This field now can be set to any specific language so that the system can support more
than two languages. The language choices are Use Primary Language, Use Secondary Lan-
guage, American English, British English, Japanese, or Spanish. Note that Spanish voice
prompts use Mexico City Spanish Dialect for VPU and EVMC, and American Spanish Dialect
for EM. Select
Language and scroll to the desired option. Then press ENTER or click outside
the field to save your change.
Mailboxes
4.254 If the station being programmed serves as the message notification station for one or
more mailboxes, the mailbox(es) will appear in the Mailboxes list. Select
Mailboxes to see the
list of mailboxes assigned to this station. You cannot program the mailbox here, but if you dou-
ble-click on the mailbox, the screen will jump to the Mailbox programming area.
