MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Checking Software on a CPC or CPU
INSTALLATION
3
12. The software is automatically uploaded into flash memory on the CPU card. A warning
message appears if you attempt to load CPU 512 Master software without a CPU 512
Slave card installed and communicating. You can continue the upload by clicking
Yes
or abort the upload by clicking No. (If you click Yes, you must install software on the
CPU 512 Slave card before it functions.)
13. If the upload fails to start, press the reset switch on the CPU card six times within three
seconds, then retry the upload. If the upload fails while in progress, the red and yellow
LEDs on the CPU card blink rapidly (ten times per second), and the PC displays the
reason for the failure. If possible, correct the problem and retry the upload.
14. When the upload is complete, the system resets and the PC displays a message indicat-
ing the operation was successful. Click
OK and then exit the program.
D. CHECKING SOFTWARE ON A CPC OR CPU
12.2 You can use the following procedure to check the validity of software on the CPC or
CPU card:
1. Attach a terminal (or a PC using terminal emulation software) to the IP port for a CPC
or to SERIAL PORT 1 for a CPU. (Communication parameters for the serial port are
9600 bps, no parity, 8 bits, and 1 stop bit.)
NOTE: If the system contains an EVMC, you must first shut down the EVMC properly
before turning off the Power Supply.
2. Turn off the Power Supply on the first chassis and the third chassis (if used).
NOTE: Be sure not to unplug CPCs or CPU card(s) with any Power Supply still ON.
3. Turn on the Power Supply on the first chassis or the third chassis while watching the
power-up messages on the terminal.

4. If you do not see the correct information, upload the premium software from the pro-
gramming PC to the CPC or CPU card using the Board Utility. To do so, select the
Board Utility menu from the Inter-Tel DB Programming.
