TROUBLE-
SHOOTING
Cannot place off-hook voice
announce calls
Programming error Ensure that the system option for off-hook voice
announce is enabled (PROGRAMMING, page 6-
258), that the called phone is programmed to
receive OHVA calls, and that the calling phone is
programmed to transmit OHVA calls (PROGRAM-
MING, page 6-209).
User error The called station is a single-line set or a phone
that is programmed not to receive OHVA calls. Or,
the called phone user may have blocked the OHVA
call. See page 5-190 in FEATURES for more infor-
mation.
Secondary voice path busy The called phone cannot receive off-hook voice
announce calls when its secondary voice path or
speakerphone are in use. See FEATURES,
page 5-190.
Defective phone Perform the keyset self-test as described in
INSTALLATION, page 3-182, and replace the
phone if faulty.
Defective DKSC, EKSC, or
AKSC
Replace the associated DKSC, EKSC, or AKSC.
Defective CPC or CPU Card See page 7-3 for LED and system voltage informa-
tion. Replace the card if faulty.
Data device connected to
phone not operating properly
User error See manufacturer's operating instructions.
Secondary voice path busy The phone will not transmit data calls when the
secondary voice path or speakerphone are in use.
See page 5-269 in FEATURES.
Problem with data device Disconnect data device and check operation
according to the manufacturer's instructions.
PCDPM, MDPM, or AC
transformer not installed
properly or defective
Check installation and connections. See INSTAL-
LATION, pages 3-191 and 3-204. Replace if defec-
tive.
Data Port Module not
installed properly or defective
Check Data Port Module installation and jumper
strap settings. See INSTALLATION, page 3-204.
Replace if defective.
Defective phone Try another phone.
Defective DKSC, EKSC, or
AKSC
Replace the associated DKSC, EKSC, or AKSC.
Defective CPC or CPU Card See page 7-3 for LED and system voltage informa-
tion. Replace the card if faulty.
Data noise in any off-hook
condition
Defective cabling or connec-
tions (e.g., line cord, amphe-
nol connector, bridging clip,
etc.)
Check for loose or open connections, or crossed
wires.
Wrong type of line cord for 8-
line AIM phones installed two
to a circuit.
Replace the flat line cord with a twisted-pair line
cord.
Defective phone Try another phone.
