logging
Use the logging command in Global Configuration mode to log messages to a syslog server. To
delete the syslog server with the specified address from the list of syslogs, use the no form of this
command.
Syntax
logging {
ip-address
|
hostname
}
no logging {
ip-address
|
hostname
}
ip-address
— IP address of the host to be used as a syslog server.
hostname
— Hostname of the host to be used as a syslog server. (Range: 1-158 characters)
Default Configuration
No syslog servers defined.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode
User Guidelines
Up to eight syslog servers can be used.
Example
The following example places the designated server in logging configuration mode.
console(config)#logging 192.168.15.1
logging buffered
Use the logging buffered command in Global Configuration mode to limit syslog messages
displayed from an internal buffer based on severity. To cancel the buffer use, use the no form of
this command.
Syntax
logging buffered
level
no logging buffered
