852 Routing Information Protocol Commands
ip rip send version
Use the ip rip sent version command in Interface Configuration mode to configure the
interface to allow RIP control packets of the specified version to be sent. Use the no form of the
command to return the version to the default value.
Syntax
ip rip send version {rip1 | rip1c | rip2 | none}
no ip rip send version
rip1 — Send RIP version 1 formatted packets.
rip1c — Send RIP version 1 compatibility mode, which sends RIP version 2 formatted packets
via broadcast.
rip2 — Send RIP version 2 using multicast.
none — Do not allow any RIP control packets to be sent.
Default Configuration
RIP2 is the default configuration.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode.
User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example allows no RIP control packets to be sent by VLAN 11.
console(config-if-vlan11)#ip rip send version none
redistribute
The redistribute command configures RIP protocol to redistribute routes from the specified
source protocol/routers. If the source protocol is OSPF, there are five possible match options.
Syntax
redistribute ospf [metric
integer
] [match [internal] [external 1] [external 2]
[nssa-external 1] [nssa-external 2]]
no redistribute ospf
redistribute { static | connected} [metric
integer
]
