Command Mode

User Guidelines
When port security is enabled on an interface, all dynamic entries learned up to that point are
flushed, and new entries can be learned only to the limit set by the port security max command.
The default limit is 100 dynamic MAC addresses.
Example
In this example, frame forwarding is enabled without learning, and with traps sent every 100
seconds on port g1.
console(config)#interface ethernet 1/g1
console(config-if-1/g1)#port security forward trap 100
port security max
Use the port security max command in Interface Configuration mode to configure the
maximum addresses that can be learned on the port while the port is in port security mode. To
return to the system default, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
port security max
max-addr
no port security max
max-addr — The maximum number of addresses that can be learning on the port. (Range: 0-
100)
Default Configuration
The default value for this command is 100.

Example
The following example shows using this command in Ethernet Interface Configuration mode.
