Example
The following example adds a description to the Ethernet port 5.
console(config)#interface ethernet 1/g5
console(config-if-1/g5)# description RD_SW#3
duplex
Use the duplex command in Interface Configuration mode to configure the full/half duplex
operation of a given Ethernet interface when not using auto-negotiation. To restore the default,
use the no form of this command.
Syntax
duplex {half | full}
no duplex
• half — Force half-duplex operation
•
full — Force full-duplex operation
Default Configuration
The interface is set to full duplex.

This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example configures the duplex operation of Ethernet port 5 to force full duplex
operation.

console(config-if-1/g5)# duplex full
flowcontrol
Use the flowcontrol command in Global Configuration mode to configure the flow control. To
disable flow control, use the no form of this command.
