area-id
— Identifies the OSPF area to configure. (Range: IP address or decimal from
0–4294967295)
neighbor-id
— Identifies the Router ID of the neighbor.
seconds
Number of seconds to wait before the OSPF virtual interface on the virtual
interface is assumed to be dead. (Range: 1–2147483647)
Default Configuration
40 seconds is the default configuration.
Command Mode
Router OSPF Configuration mode.
User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example configures the dead interval for the area 10 OSPF virtual interface on the
virtual interface and neighbor router.
console(config-router)#area 10 virtual-link 192.168.2.2 dead-
interval 655555
area virtual-link hello-interval
Use the area virtual-link hello-interval command in Router OSPF Configuration mode to
configure the hello interval for the OSPF virtual interface on the virtual interface identified by
the area ID and neighbor ID. Use the no form of the command to return the hello interval to
the default value.
