Syntax
default-metric integer
no default-metric
• integer — Metric for the distributed routes. (Range: 1-15)
Default Configuration
Default metric is not configured by default.
Command Mode
Router RIP Configuration mode.
User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example sets a default of 12 for the metric of distributed routes.
console(config-router)#default-metric 12
distance rip
Use the distance rip command in Router RIP Configuration mode to set the route preference
value of RIP in the router. Lower route preference values are preferred when determining the
best route. Use the no form of the command to return the preference to the default value.
Syntax
distance rip integer
no distance rip
• integer — RIP route preference. (Range: 1-255)
Default Configuration
15 is the default configuration.
