25.3 Implementation of ADC0/ADC1
This section describes the ADC0/ADC1 module related external functions such as port
connections, interrupt and service request control, DMA and GPTA connections,
address decoding, and clock control.
25.3.1 Interface Connections of the ADC Modules
Figure 25-30 shows the TC1796 specific implementation details and interconnections of
the ADC0 and ADC1 modules.
Both ADC modules are supplied by a common separate clock control, address decoding,
and interrupt control logic. Four of the eight module’s service request outputs are
connected to interrupt nodes and four are connected to the DMA controller.
The 44 analog inputs are wired to the analog inputs of the two ADC modules with a fixed
scheme. One analog input of ADC1 is connected to an on-chip temperature
measurement unit. Control outputs for external analog input extensions are available at
Port 7 as alternate outputs. The external request unit that is located in the TC1796
System Control Unit (SCU) controls A/D conversion trigger and gating input signals that
are generated from port lines, from MSC outputs, or from GPTA outputs.
