Vertical unit, Attenuation, Gain
If a predefined probe is connected and selected, the attenuation or gain values are
shown.
For unknown probes and passive probes in manual mode, you can set user-defined
values for unit, gain and attenuation.
If AC coupling is set, the attenuation of passive probes has no effect, and voltage is
applied to the instrument with factor 1:1. Observe the voltage limits, otherwise you can
damage the instrument.

5.5.4 Setup for active voltage probes
Active voltage probes with Rohde & Schwarz probe interface have an integrated data
memory that contains identification data and individual probe correction parameters.
The R&S RTE can detect these probes and read out the data. Furthermore, these
probes have a micro button and a ProbeMeter.
Active voltage probes that are offered by Rohde & Schwarz but not equipped with a
Rohde & Schwarz probe interface are known to the R&S RTE as predefined probes,
see Chapter 5.5.6, "Setup for predefined probes", on page 209.
The following shared probe settings are available:
●
"Type, Name, Bandwidth" on page 195
●
"Detect AutoZero, Use AutoZero" on page 195
●
"External attenuation: Scale, Attenuation" on page 196
Special features of the Rohde & Schwarz probe interface are described in these sec-
tions:
●
"Probe unit, Auto attenuation" on page 197
●
"Micro button action" on page 197
●
"ProbeMeter" on page 198
The specific settings of Rohde & Schwarz active probes are described in the following
chapters:

● R&S RT-ZD differential probes..............................................................................203
● R&S RT-ZPR power rail probes............................................................................ 204
