auto-summary
Description
This command automatically summarizes routing information according to IP classes. When
possible, subnets are summarized according to classes (A, B or C) and entered as single
routes. As default, this function is enabled.
Requirement
You are in the RIPv2 Router configuration mode.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli(config-rip)#
Syntax
Call the command without parameter assignment:
auto-summary
Result
Subnets are entered in the routing table summarized as class A, B or C networks.

no auto-summary
Description
This command disables the automatic summarizing of routing information.
Requirement
You are in the RIPv2 Router configuration mode.
The command prompt is as follows:
cli(config-rip)#
Syntax
Call the command without parameter assignment:
no auto-summary
Result
Subnets are not summarized according to classes.
