Example
This example shows how to display auto-negotiation status for Ethernet port 14 in unit 3:
C3(su)->show port negotiation ge.3.14
auto-negotiation is enabled on port ge.3.14.
set port negotiation
Use this command to enable or disable auto-negotiation on one or more ports.
Syntax
set port negotiation port-string {enable | disable}
Parameters

None.

This example shows how to disable auto-negotiation on Ethernet port 3 in unit 14:
C3(su)->set port negotiation ge.3.14 disable
show port advertise
Use this command to display port capability and advertisement as far as speed and duplex for
auto-negotiation.
Syntax
show port advertise [port-string]
Parameters
Defaults
If port-string is not specified, advertisement for all ports will be displayed.
port-string Specifies the port(s) for which to enable or disable auto-negotiation. For a
detailed description of possible port-string values, refer to “Port String
Syntax Used in the CLI” on page 11-1.
enable | disable Enables or disables auto-negotiation.
port-string (Optional) Displays advertised ability for specific port(s). For a
detailed description of possible port-string values, refer to “Port String
Syntax Used in the CLI” on page 11-1.
