5.5.1 Event Prescaler
An input capture signal (pulse train) can be prescaled by N = 2-62 (in multiples of 2) or can bypass the
prescaler.
This is useful when very high frequency signals are used as inputs. Figure 5-5 shows a functional
diagram and Figure 5-6 shows the operation of the prescale function.

A When a prescale value of 1 is chosen ( ECCTL1[13:9] = 0,0,0,0,0 ), the input capture signal bypasses the prescale
logic completely.

5.5.2 Edge Polarity Select and Qualifier
Functionality and features include:
Four independent edge polarity (rising edge/falling edge) selection muxes are used, one for each
capture event.
Each edge (up to 4) is event qualified by the Modulo4 sequencer.
The edge event is gated to its respective CAPx register by the Mod4 counter. The CAPx register is
