This command suppresses routing updates on all interfaces and the no form of the command
enables routing updates on all interfaces.

SMIS(config-router)# passive-interface default
All the OSPF interfaces created after the execution of this command will be passive.
This is useful in Internet service provider (ISP) and large enterprise networks where many of the
distribution routers have more than 200 interfaces.
