3.8 Spurious Emissions Measurement
3.8 Spurious Emissions Measurement
The Spurious Emissions measurement identifies and determines the power level of
spurious emissions in certain frequency bands.
Measurement Commands
The general functionality of "CONFigure" on page 2753, "INITiate" on page 2754,
"FETCh" on page 2754, "MEASure" on page 2756, and "READ" on page 2755 are
described in the section SCPI Operation and Results Query in the topic
Programming the Instrument.
Note that, in general, :CONF:<Measurement> resets the specified measurement
settings to their defaults. X-Series permits the addition of the NDEFault node to the
command, which prevents a measurement preset after a measurement switch.
The tables below list measurement commands for this measurement.
Command Function
:INITiate:SPURious
Initiates a trigger cycle for the SPUR measurement, but does not return any
data. You must then use :FETC:SPUR[n]? to retrieve data
Does not change any measurement settings
:CONFigure?
Returns the long form name of current measurement, in this case, SPURious
:CONFigure:SPURious
Selects SPUR measurement with Meas Setup settings in preset state – same
as "Meas Preset" on page 1471
:CONFigure:SPURious:NDEFault
Selects SPUR measurement without affecting settings
The following queries are used to retrieve data. The type of data returned depends
on the value of n.
Command Function
:FETCh:SPURious[n]?
Retrieves the data defined by n
:MEASure:SPURious
[n]?
Switches to SPUR measurement, restores default values, starts the measurement, then
retrieves the data defined by n
:READ:SPURious[n]?
Starts the measurement, then retrieves the data defined by n
Remote Command Results
The following table describes the results returned by the :FETCh, :MEASure, and
:READ queries listed above, according to the index value n. Note that these queries
are not available when viewing the Range Table.
The value of the constant SCPI_NAN, mentioned below, is 9.91E37.
