linecard
Pre-configure a line card in a currently empty slot of the system or a different line card type for the slot. To pre-configure
a 4-port 40G line card, refer to the linecard command.
C-Series, E-Series
Syntax
linecard number card-type
Parameters
number Enter the number of the slot. For the C-Series, the range is 0 to 7. For
the E-Series, the range is 0 to 13 on the E1200/E1200i, 0 to 6 on the
E600/E6001, and 0 to 5 on the E300..
card-type Enter the line card ID (refer to the “Supported Hardware” section in
the Release Notes ).

Usage
Information
Use this command only for empty slots or a slot where you have hot-swapped a different line
card type. Before inserting a card of a different type into the pre-configured slot, execute the
no linecard number command. The examplet shows the current supported C-Series line
cards, along with their “card types” (card-type IDs).
NOTE: It is advisable to shut down interfaces on a line card that you are hot-swapping.
