Usage
TherouterthatownsthevirtualrouterIPaddressalwayspreemptsotherrouters,regardlessof
thissetting.
PreemptisenabledonVRRProutersbydefault,whichallowsahigherprioritybackuprouterto
preemptalowerprioritymaster.
The“no”formofthiscommanddisablespreemptmode.
Example
ThisexampleshowshowtodisablepreemptmodeonVLAN1,VRID1:
Matrix>Router(config)#router vrrp
Matrix>Router(config-router)#no preempt vlan 1 1
preempt-delay
UsethiscommandtosetapreemptdelaytimeonaVRRProuter.

‐101,andmusthave
preemptmodeenabledasdescribedin“preempt”onpage 21‐67.
vrid SpecifiesauniqueVirtualRouterID(VRID)associatedwiththerouting
interface.Validvaluesarefrom1to255.
delay‐timer Specifiesapreemptdelaytimeinseconds.Validvaluesarefrom1to
900.
