Switch Ports
TheMatrixSeriesmodulesandstandalonedeviceshavefixedfrontpanelswitchportsand,
dependingonthemodel,optionalexpansionmoduleslots.Thenumberingschemeusedto
identifytheswitchportsonthefrontpanelandtheexpansionmodule(s)installedisinterface‐type
dependentandisalsodependentuponthechassis
inwhichthemodule(s)areinstalled.

Portnumbercanbe:
Anyportnumberinaslotlocation.Thehighestvalidportnumberisdependentonthenumberof
portsinaslotlocationandtheporttype.
Forexample:
Ifamoduleinslot1has48,100MbpsFastEthernetfrontpanelports,andanuplinkinterface
with
6MiniGBICs,therangeofportnumberdesignationsusedintheCLIcommandwouldbe:
fe.1.1throughfe.1.48forthe48100MbpsFastEthernetfrontpanelports,and
ge.1.1throughge.1.6forthe6MiniGBICuplinkports.
Iftheuplinkhasthesametype(fe)portsas the
frontpanel,thenumberingcontinueswiththeport
numberfe.1.49.
