Configuring MAC Authentication
Purpose
Toreview,disable,enableandconfigureMACauthentication.Thisallowsthedeviceto
authenticatesourceMACaddresses inanexchangewithanauthenticationserver.The
authenticator(switch)selectsasourceMACseenonaMAC‐authenticationenabledport,and
submitsittoabackendclientforauthentication.Thebackendclientuses
theMACaddressstored
password,ifrequired,ascredentialsforanauthenticationattempt.Ifaccepted,astring
representinganaccesspolicymaybereturned.Ifpresent,theswitchappliestheassociatedpolicy
rules.Foraninformationonconfiguringpolicyclassification,referbacktoChapter 8.
