Usage
Ifseveralroutes(comingfromdifferentprotocols)arepresentedtotheEnterasysMatrixSeries
RouteTableManager(RTM),theprotocolwiththelowestadministrativedistancewillbechosen
forrouteinstallation.Bydefault,RIPadministrativedistanceissetto120.Thedistancecommand
canbeusedtochangethisvalue,resetting
RIP’sroutepreferenceinrelationtootherroutesas
showninthetablebelow.
The“no”formofthiscommandresetsRIPadministrativedistancetothedefaultvalueof 12 0.
Example
ThisexampleshowshowtochangethedefaultadministrativedistanceforRIPto1001:
Matrix>Router(config)#router rip
Matrix>Router(config-router)#distance 100
ip rip offset
UsethiscommandtoaddorremoveanoffsettothemetricofanincomingoroutgoingRIProute.
