20.2 Modes of operation
The I
2
C module has the following modes of operation:
Run mode: This is the basic mode of operation.
Stop mode: This is the lowest power saving mode and allows the system to turn of all the clocks to
the I
2
C module. This state can only be entered when there are no active transfers on the bus.

20.3.1 Overview
The Inter-Integrated Circuit (I

C) module has 2 external pins.
20.3.2 Detailed signal descriptions
20.3.2.1 SCL
This is the bidirectional Serial Clock Line (SCL) of the module, compatible with the I
2
C-Bus specification.
20.3.2.2 SDA
This is the bidirectional Serial Data line (SDA) of the module, compatible with the I
2
C-Bus specification.
