19.5.2 Turn on/off
"Turn On/Off" analysis measures the time that a power supply needs to reach a certain
percentage of the steady state output level when initially turned on or turned off.
Common measuring scenarios include:
Turn on time: measurement of the time it takes for the DC output to reach 90 % of
the expected steady state level, after the power supply is initially turned on.
Turn off time: measurement of the time it takes for the DC output to reach 10 % of
the expected steady state level, after the power supply is initially turned off.
Required probes:
Differential voltage probe
Passive or differential voltage probe
19.5.2.1 Turn on/off results
The results of "Turn on/off" measurements are provided in two ways:
The diagram shows the graphical presentation of:
the input voltage waveform
the output voltage waveform
The result box displays the "Turn on time" or the "Turn off time".
