iNFiNiT! Family Operation Manual
Revision D 3-49 Start-Up
In addition to the visible function icons, hidden functions
reside in some menus. These hidden functions are typi-
cally activated by pressing
CNTL, then a letter key, and
are described in various sections of this manual.

Select the Quit icon (CNTL Q) to exit the current func-
tion. Not all functions or menus contain the
Quit icon;
those that don’t can be exited by pressing
CNTL or ESC,
or by pressing
Q to back up one level of menus. ESC
often takes the system back to the main menu, and can-
cels any changes you made in the previous menu.

This area is highlighted whenever CNTL has been
pressed; pressing
CNTL again removes the highlight-
ing. When the
CNTL indicator is highlighted, pressing a
letter key that matches a function icon activates that func-
tion. Pressing
CNTL while in a function (such as Tab
Setup) typically exits that function. Certain submenus do
not use the
CNTL
button, and therefore do not display
the
CNTL
indicator.
NOTE
The CNTL key behaves differently
than the Ctrl key on a PC keyboard.
On a PC keyboard, the Ctrl key is held
while the next key is pressed. On an
iNFiNiT! Family system, the CNTL key
is pressed, then released before
executing the next keystroke. For
example, to access the Change
Directory function in the Message
Compose main menu, press then
release CNTL, then press D.
CNTL is also used to exit menus.
