NOTE
The terms “frame buffer” and “buffer”
are used interchangeably. Be aware,
however, that there are many types of
buffers, i.e. Read Next buffer, Roll
buffer, Crawl buffer, Foreground and
Background buffers in Extended
Effects Frame Buffers, Memory
buffers, etc.

NOTE
To use the MAXINE! Preview Output
Option, the MAXINE! system must be
equipped with an Extended Effects
Frame Buffer.
The MAXINE! Preview Output Option adds more flexi-
bility and control to the operating environment of the
MAXINE!. It provides a separate output for the Back-
ground buffer of the Extended Effects Frame Buffer
(EEFB), which is displayed on an additional monitor.
Switcher The software in the system that allows you to assign a
buffer to CHANNEL A, CHANNEL B, and PREVIEW. You
can assign any combination of one to three buffers
(depending on the number of buffers in the system) to
CHANNEL A and/or CHANNEL B and/or PREVIEW.
A maximum of one buffer can be assigned to each CHAN-
NEL, but a particular buffer can be assigned to more than
one output.
