Font Size refers to the height, in scanlines, of the tallest
character of the font. The tallest character in any Stan-
dard or International Font is “
Å”, as shown in Figure 18-
5. All other characters in the font are, to varying degrees,
smaller than this character.
To set Font Size:
•In the
FONT SIZE field, enter the selected Font Size
from
10 to 1000 using the Address Keypad, then
press
or cursor to the next field.

The total size of the new Machine Font must take into
account both the Font Size and the Edge Size as follows:
• [Font Size + (2 X Edge Size)] must be less than or
equal to 1000.
For example: If you are converting an edgeless font, the
maximum Font Size can be
1000. If you are converting a
bordered font with Edge Size =
10, the value entered in
the Font Size field can be no larger than
[1000 - (2 X
Edge Size)] = 980
.
If a number below
10 is entered, the Font Size defaults to
10. If a number between 1001 and 2000 is entered, the font
does convert, but it probably cannot be displayed on screen.

The
Å character would be entered in the
