Each of the four Effect Types governs how an old image
leaves the screen and the new image enters the screen:
• Either image (old and/or new) can move or remain
stationary during the transition (
Wipe, Push, Hide,
and
Revl (Reveal).
Transition
Patterns
Each Effect Type can have a Transition Pattern (§15.5)
applied to it. The icons for these patterns are found across
the top of the Read Effects window, and are labeled
A - J.
Only
A - G are visible when first entering the Read Effects
main menu.
H - J can be accessed by pressing H, I, or J.
The default setting is
A.
Not all of the following Transition Patterns are available to all
Effect Types. If a Transition Pattern cannot be used with a
particular Effect Type, the letter above the Transition Pattern
icon is not displayed. The Transition Patterns are as follows:
A - Horizontal Slide/Wipe
B - Vertical Slide/Wipe
C - Horizontal Split Wipe
D - Vertical Split Wipe
E - Box Wipe
F - Row Slide/Wipe
G - Scanline Wipe - All rows change simultaneously
H - Row-by-Row Scanline Wipe
I - Screen Scanline Wipe
J - Pixel Wipe
Row Menu
The direction of transition of individual rows can be con-
trolled in Transition Patterns
F, G, and H from within the
Row Menu (§15.4).Direction in each row can be set to Up,
Down, Left, Right, or Fixed, for a maximum of 24 rows
(numbered
0 - 23).
