Revision D 5-5 Software Overview
The Suspend function in MODE SLCT can be handy
when you need to leave a program (and save the set-
tings), work in another program, and return to the first
program without having to reload it.
Mode Select is also covered in §6.11.

Applications dealing with the creation and placement of
characters are found in Message Compose and Font Cre-
ate Utility.

Message Compose is the main Character Generator and
Graphics Creation program, in which you create, edit,
save (record), and display (read) text and graphics mes-
sages, as well as dynamic effects (Wipes, Pushes, etc.)
NOTE
Text in Message Compose uses fonts
created using either the Flash Font
(Section 13), Font Create Utility
(Section 18), or Advanced Font Create
Option.
The main Message Compose functions are as follows:
• Machine Font listing and loading
• Text creation and editing
• On Line / Flash Font Creation
• Palettes for text and background
• Message and Font Directory creation & selection
• Setting up screen editing parameters
• Advanced Read Effects
