Keys can roughly be divided into functional groups as follows:

QWERTY
Keys
These consist of letter keys

, and all the usual English punctuation. These
keys are used like regular word processor keys to type
characters onto the Color Edit Monitor.
Function Keys F1

allow storage of up to 500 keystrokes for each
execution when that Function Key is pressed. Pressing

ALT
Selects alternate characters for typing. It is also used to

CNVRT

Displays the Flash Font Conversion Menu for on-screen
font scaling and design.
ALT CNVRT

CHNG
Sets the next active frame buffer according to what is
selected in the Mix menu. The
CHNG
key is disabled in
two-buffer systems running in Dual User mode. In three-
buffer (Internal Mix Channel equipped) systems,
CHNG
toggles between buffers 1 and 2 for Primary user, and is
disabled for Secondary user.
CNTL CHNG
is a related
function.
XFER
Swaps CHANNEL A and PREVIEW outputs in Single
User mode.
CNTL XFER
and
ALT XFER
are related
functions.
CRAWL
Activates the Crawl feature for Crawl messages. Press
CNTL CRAWL
to set up Crawl messages.
ROLL
Activates the Roll feature for Roll messages. Press
CNTL ROLL
to set up Roll messages.
SETUP
Accesses the Setup menu from the Program Loader menu
for internal Clock, User Mode, Keyboard ID, Video set-
tings, System Boot, etc. In Message Compose, used to set
up Roll, Crawl, defaults, tabs, Safe Title Box, Flash,
Clock/Timer, etc.
