SCSI ID and LUN Number. The SCSI (Small Computer
System Interface) ID is the primary location of the drive,
while the LUN (Logical Unit Number) is a particular
branch from the SCSI ID. Up to 8 drives, each having a
different LUN (
0 - 7) can share a single SCSI ID (0 - 6).
In the current release of software, only the removable
media option supports more than one LUN assignment (
0
or
1); all fixed disks are set to LUN 0.
Figure 19-27. DISK CONFIGURATION Window (Typical)
Many combinations of SCSI ID and LUN exist; a maxi-
mum of 16 devices can be configured in the system. The
SCSI ID and LUN of drive
A (the keyboard floppy) can-
not be altered by you. A system having 5 storage devices
is shown in Figure 19-28.
