• Be careful not to rename a file so that it cannot be
accessed by Message Compose. For example, do not
name a message file
55555; the largest number that
can be read by Message Compose is
9999.

To rename a directory:
[ ] 1. Enter the drive and directory containing the
file to be renamed into the
CURRENT DIR:
field. To rename a directory, just enter the drive
letter. Press
.
[ ] 2. Enter the file or directory name in the
OLD
NAME:
field. For Machine Fonts and
user-created messages, the name is typically
the ID or address number.
[ ] 3. Enter a new name (ID number) in the
NEW
NAME:
field. If you want to add or change the
current description of the file (for example,
"Palette Message" is system default for
recorded palette), enter a new description in
the
DESCRIPTOR: field.

If you don't know the file name, or what directory it's in,
use the List function prior to rename:
[ ] 1. Enter a drive letter in the
CURRENT DIR:
field. For example, enter A/ (floppy), B/
(IOMega), or C/ (standard hard disk). Press
CNTL L or select List to list the directories on
that disk.
[ ] 2. To rename a directory, press
Ï to enter the list,
then highlight the directory to rename. Press
to place the directory name into the
OLD
NAME:
field.
