The Image Matte function combines a video image (fill
object) with a key object you create and filter using
Self
Key
and Alpha Filter. The result is a fully antialiased
object whose shape is defined by the key object.
The effect of Image Matte is similar to that obtained by
using the
Key Enable function in Mix Effects menu
(§16.10), except that Image Matte creates a permanent
character or RGB image.
NOTE
To achieve an image that fills the key
object only with the Fill video (no Key
video showing, the key object must
be WHITE. Other effects are obtained
by using a key object that is not
white.
See §21.13.6 for more
information.
Also note that any image that falls
outside of the Crop Box stays visible
after the Matte is executed, but is not
part of the final recorded image.
Image Matte combines the buffers assigned to CHAN-
NELS A and B in the Mix menu.
The following procedure gives an idea of how an object
will appear after matting is complete.
[ ] 1. In Message Compose, place a WHITE key
object in the buffer assigned to CHANNEL B.
If the object has been converted into a font
character, it can be moved to a different
position using normal text editing techniques.
