Revision D 8-39 Directory Features
In the File: field, only upper case “A-Z”, “0-9”,
$”, and “_” are valid characters. All other
characters generate an error display when a
record is attempted. Additionally, the
alphanumeric name must begin with a letter,
not a number. In the
Desc: field, all characters
are valid, including spaces.

You can record a message using a standard one to four
digit ID number while either in or out of the Alphanu-
meric Record window. If you are out of the Alphanu-
meric Record window:
[ ] 1. Using the Address Keypad, enter the ID
number of the message to be recorded, then
press
RCD.
The alphanumeric Record - Drive/Directory
window (Figure 8-15) is displayed.

Entered ID numbers that have fewer than four digits are
padded to four digits. For example,
23 becomes 0023.
Those which contain four or more four digits are left “as is.”
To exit the Record - Drive/Directory window without
executing
Record:

CNTL or ESC.
