Buffers & Channels 14-24 Revision D
The default assignment for FB-A (frame buffer 1) is
CHANNEL A AIR, and is designated in the status area of
Message Compose as
BUFFER: 1 A AIR. CHANNEL B
and PREVIEW are unassigned.
Adding the second buffer allows you to display a second
image for mixing. If two buffers are present, the default
assignment for FB-A (buffer 1) is CHANNEL A AIR,
and is designated in the status area of Message Compose
as
BUFFER: 1 A AIR. The default assignment for FB-B
(buffer 2)
is to PREVIEW. When buffer 2 becomes
active, it is designated in the status area of Message
Compose as
BUFFER: 2 PREVIEW. CHANNEL B is
unassigned.

The iNFiNiT! is equipped with two standard frame buff-
ers. The buffers, designated FB-A (frame buffer 1) and
FB-B (frame buffer 2), are installed in slots J16 and J17
respectively in the main chassis unit. A third optional
buffer FB-C (frame buffer 3) can be installed in slot J18.
In a Single User system, the default assignment for FB-A
(frame buffer 1) is CHANNEL A AIR, and is designated
in the status area of Message Compose as
BUFFER: 1 A
AIR
. The default assignment for FB-B (frame buffer 2) is
to PREVIEW. When buffer 2 becomes active, it is desig-
nated in the status area of Message Compose as
2 PRE-
VIEW
. CHANNEL B is unassigned.
Adding the third buffer allows you to display a third
image for mixing, or to store the mixed result of two
other buffers. The iNFiNiT! defaults to:
BUFFER 1: A
AIR
, and BUFFER 2: PREVIEW. CHANNEL B is unas-
signed.
A Dual User system has default assignments as described
in §14.8.4 and §14.8.5.
