This area of the 3D Utility window controls the position
and amount of reflected and ambient light that strikes an
object. Two light sources are available.
Rotate X, Y, or Z Move the cursor to a field and use SHIFT
CHAR +
Ì or Í to do interactive rotations.
You can also enter a value directly: Type a
number while the field is highlighted, then
press
. Rotations are shown on the Edit
Monitor, both by the orientation arrow and the
wireframe image.
Depth:
Depth:
is thickness of the object, in scanlines.
Highlight
Depth: then enter a value from 0 to
200.
A change in thickness is reflected in the blue por-
tion of the wireframe. Default is the thickness of
the object upon entry to the 3D Utility, usually
40.
Eye Dist: The Eye Dist: (Eye Distance - perspective) field
changes how far the front of the object is from a
vanishing point in Z-space. Decrease for greater
perspective effect; increase for less effect. Very
high numbers are allowed, but values over
1000
typically have little additional effect. The mini-
mum also varies. A warning message is displayed
when the eye gets too “close” to the object.
Size: Size is the object size in scanlines. Upon entry to
3D mode, the size defaults to the value shown in
the On-Line main menu, typically 1
24.
